Post mix
Post mix for setting fence posts
A dry, pre-blended mix for fixing posts in the ground. No mixing tray needed: stand the post in the hole, pour, then add water.

Setting a post
- 01
Dig the hole
Roughly three times the width of the post and deep enough for about a quarter of its length.
- 02
Stand it up straight
Hold the post upright with a spirit level, or brace it with offcuts.
- 03
Pour and water
Fill around the post with the dry mix and add water as the bag says. Leave it to go off before fixing rails.
Bags per post
| Post | Bags |
|---|---|
| 3x3 or 4x3 | 1 |
| 4x4 | 2 |
| 6x6 gate post | 2 or more |
A guide only: deep or wide holes take more.
Questions
Can I use concrete instead?
Yes, a standard concrete mix works too. Post mix simply saves mixing on site.
